How can I access my machine from some other locations? Hi friends,
I recently downloaded one application called "Free Download Manager". It has one feature "Remote Control". The use of this feature is that , we can start download by sitting some other locations but the data will be downloaded to our machine.
But the problem is I cannot connect to my machine. "Remote control server shows IP address is 192.168.1.2. If I put this ip in my computer's browser it works. But I can't do it from some other places. I know 198.168.1.2 is a local address and it's not possible using this IP.
How can I make it possible? I hope the details given above would be sufficient for you to help me. If you not tell me I would add some more details.

log into your router and forward the necessary ports of the computer you want to use (the 198.168.1.2 computer).
this varies by router so you'll have to find out how to do that on your own, sorry.
go to www.showmemyip.org to find your external IP address, use this IP address instead. since you have your computer in front of the router, it will receive the data intended for it.
if you're getting a login screen, that means you haven't forwarded your ports properly and you have remote access enabled for your router. You'll have to find a user manual for your router in order to find the default login information and to make changes (including forwarding the PC's ports to allow remote access to it).
